Netflix has unveiled the teaser trailer and new poster for their prize-winning drama LA BOLA NEGRA, which will begin streaming on their platform on December 2nd, 2026. The film world premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will launch in US theaters on October 16th, 2026.
La Bola Negra (The Black Ball) is directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, from a screenplay they co-wrote with Alberto Conejero. A queer epic inspired by the unfinished work of the same name by Federico García Lorca and Conejero’s play La piedra oscura, its ensemble cast is led by Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, Julio Torres, Milo Quifes, Lola Dueñas, Penélope Cruz, and Glenn Close.
The Spanish film — directed, co-written, and produced by filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, who won the Best Director prize at Cannes — follows three men whose lives span moments in Spanish history across the 20th and 21st centuries, bound together through desire, pain, inheritance, and an exploration of queer identity.
