In our weekly feature, we’re taking a look at the top 10 titles on the Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home transactional digital services. These charts are a snapshot and change daily, but we thought it would be interesting to give you a weekly analysis.
After a quiet Halloween week which saw minimal new releases, the studios came back strong in the first week of November. Universal’s BLACK PHONE 2, still drawing an audience in theaters, topped the charts on Fandango at Home and Prime Video. Right behind that Blumhouse title was Aziz Ansari’s GOOD FORTUNE (#2 on Prime Video, #4 on Fandango), giving Lionsgate another digital hit after the success of THE LONG WALK. The two films switched positions on the Apple TV charts, giving GOOD FORTUNE the top spot.
A24’s THE SMASHING MACHINE followed up its disappointing theatrical box-office take with an encouraging digital showing. The Benny Safdie film hit the top ten on all three charts, with a #9 showing on Prime Video, #6 on Apple TV, and #3 on Fandango at Home.
Only one other new release managed to chart: The Magnolia Pictures drama PLAINCLOTHES sits at #51 on Apple TV.
