According to our sources, Focus Features is expected to release their sci-fi thriller HOT SPOT on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on September 8th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2026 Fantasia International Film Festival before launching in US theaters on August 21st, 2026.

Hot Spot is directed by Agnieszka Smoczyńska, and stars Andrzej Konopka, Noomi Rapace, and Reika Kirishima.
In the film, set in a near future society ruled by sentient A.I., a private eye investigates a murder case only to discover a rebel group capable of undermining the digital overlord. As the detective’s identity slowly unravels, his world enters a state of hypnotic meltdown.
