Welcome to When To Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report. Every Friday, we break down the film titles whose first window streaming premieres are still not confirmed. This column will not examine second window SVOD premieres, though we’ll obviously still be tracking and reporting those.
One note: There are hundreds of new films every year, and we’re not able to track or highlight every single one. For now, we concentrate on major studio and larger indie distributor releases. There are titles not here whose streaming release dates we will report when available.

Here are the film titles (in order of theatrical release) we are currently tracking:

Theatrical Release Date: April 17, 2026
Tracking: Janus Films will slowly roll this out over the next two months, with a digital release date not likely until the end of June.
Pre-Order Availability: No
VOD/Digital Estimate: Late June 2026

Theatrical Release Date: April 24, 2026
Tracking: It seems likely that Lionsgate will launch this on PVOD on 6/9, though the continued strong box-office makes us think they still might push it back a week or two. That’s why we haven’t quite pulled the trigger on posting the date.
Pre-Order Availability: Yes ($24.99)
PVOD Estimate: Early June 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 1, 2026
Tracking: 20th Century Studios’ releases consistently hit digital after 6-7 weekends in theaters. This sequel should follow suit and hit digital late next month.
Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Late June 2026

BILLIE EILISH: HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D)
Theatrical Release Date: May 8, 2026
Tracking: A James Cameron film, and Big Jim gets long theatrical window. We’re estimating around 60-days for this concert doc.
Pre-Order Availability: Yes ($24.99)
PVOD Estimate: Early / Mid July 2026
Theatrical Release Date: May 8, 2026
Tracking: A 6/9 PVOD release date is expected.

Theatrical Release Date: May 8, 2026
Tracking: Amazon MGM titles are either fast-tracked (Mercy) or slow-walked (Project Hail Mary) to digital. We think this one will likely fall somewhere in the middle.
Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Mid / Late June 2026
Theatrical Release Date: May 8, 2026
Tracking: 1-2 Special titles have enjoyed lengthy theatrical windows, so we’re estimating this one won’t hit digital until at least July.
Pre-Order Availability: Yes ($9.99)
VOD/Digital Estimate: Early July 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 15, 2026
Tracking: This Amazon MGM Studios / Orion Pictures release will likely stay theatrical exclusive for at least a month. We’re estimating a digital release in mid June.
Pre-Order Availability: No
VOD/Digital Estimate: Mid June 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 15, 2026
Tracking: Focus Features has a genuine hit on their hands, which makes us doubt they’ll send this one to PVOD after three weekends. Pushing back our estimate to reflect the strong box-office run.
Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Mid / Late June 2026
Tracking: Vertical Entertainment has given their stronger performers longer windows, but we doubt this will do much business at the box-office. A digital release in less than a month is likely.
Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Early / Mid June 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 22, 2026
Tracking: This NEON title looks to follow the distributor’s usual 4-5 weekend window. We’re estimating it’ll hit digital by the end of next month.
Pre-Order Availability: Yes ($24.99)
VOD/Digital Estimate: Late June 2026
STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU
Theatrical Release Date: May 22, 2026

Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Late July 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 22, 2026
Tracking: Paramount’s new window policy means this horror thriller will enjoy 45-day in theaters. Look for it to hit PVOD in early July.
Pre-Order Availability: Yes ($24.99)
PVOD Estimate: Early July 2026
Theatrical Release Date: May 22, 2026
Tracking: IFC Films gives this horror thriller a quick theatrical run before pivoting to digital (and then Shudder). We’re estimating it’ll hit VOD next month.
Pre-Order Availability: Yes ($14.99)
VOD/Digital Estimate: Mid June 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 22, 2026
Tracking: Black Bear Pictures expands this well-reviewed crime thriller nationally this weekend. We’re estimating a digital release about one month after this expansion.
Pre-Order Availability: No
VOD/Digital Estimate: Late June / Early July 2026
Theatrical Release Date: May 29, 2026

Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Mid July 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 29, 2026
Tracking: Only the third Sony Pictures wide release of the year, we’re estimating the studio will stick with its usual 31-day theatrical-to-digital window.
Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Late June / Early July 2026
Theatrical Release Date: May 29, 2026
Tracking: Lionsgate opens this in limited release this weekend, expanding nationwide next weekend. We’re estimating a PVOD release about 30-days after that expansion.
Pre-Order Availability: No
PVOD Estimate: Early July 2026

Theatrical Release Date: May 29, 2026
Tracking: We doubt this Focus Features release will have the break-out box-office their Obsession is currently enjoying. It’ll likely hit PVOD after three weekends in theaters.
