Sumerian Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for their prize-winning drama JOSEPHINE, which will launch in US theaters on November 20th, 2026. The film world premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won both the Grand Jury Prize Dramatic and the Audience Award Dramatic.
Josephine is written, directed, and produced by Beth de Araújo, and stars Gemma Chan, Channing Tatum, Philip Ettinger, Syra McCarthy, Michael Angelo Covino, and Mason Reeves.
In the film, after eight-year-old Josephine accidentally witnesses a brutal assault in Golden Gate Park, she begins acting out violently to protect herself. This emotional trauma leads to conflicts between her parents as they search for justice, and a way to feel safe again.
We’ve added the release date to our In Theaters Calendar. Check out the new teaser trailer below.
