The Eight Mountains Digital Date Set; Criterion Channel Launch Confirmed

Janus/Sideshow Films will release the acclaimed Italian drama THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS on digital August 22, 2023. The film world premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival (where it won the Jury prize, tying with EO), and launched in US theaters this year on April 28th.

The Eight Mountains depicts a friendship between two men who spend their childhood together in a remote Alpine village and reconnect later as adults. It was co-directed by Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch, who co-adapted the screenplay from the novel of the same name by Paolo Cognetti.

As with all Janus/Sideshow films, we expect this will be available day-and-date on Criterion Channel, but no confirmation as of yet. We’ll post with any updates.

Update: The Eight Mountains will indeed launch on the Criterion Channel August 22nd, 2023.
