Acclaimed Doc BEYOND UTOPIA Sets Digital Streaming Premiere Date

Lionsgate will release the acclaimed documentary BEYOND UTOPIA on digital and VOD platforms on November 28th, 2023. The film world premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won the U.S. Documentary Competition Audience Award. It was released as a special engagement via Fathom Events on October 23rd, before receiving a limited theatrical run via Roadside Attractions on November 3rd.

Beyond Utopia was directed by Madeleine Gavin and centers around Sengeun Kim, a pastor who defected from North to South Korea and who facilitates North Korean defections. The film is expected to be shortlisted for the Best Documentary Feature Oscar.
