A24’s hit horror chiller BACKROOMS is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on HBO Max on September 25th, 2026. The film launched in US theaters on May 29th, 2026, and hit PVOD on July 14th, 2026.
Additionally, The film will debut on HBO linear on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Backrooms is directed by Kane Parsons and written by Will Soodik. It stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, and Lukita Maxwell.
In the film, a strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom, leading to an endless network of interconnected rooms where time bends and the only thing scarier than getting lost is the sense that something is laying in wait.
