MUBI is set to release their surrealist psychological slasher TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA on VOD and digital platforms this week, arriving tomorrow, September 18th, 2026. No word yet on whether it will also launch on the MUBI streaming platform tomorrow, we’ll update this post as soon as we have confirmation.
The film premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival as the opening film of the Un Certain Regard section, where it won the Queer Palm It was given a limited theatrical release in the United States on August 7th, 2026, expanding to more theaters on August 14th, before a much wider release on August 21st.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun, and stars Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Jack Haven.
In the film, handed the reins to resurrect a dying slasher franchise, an enthusiastic young director visits the original film’s reclusive star, only to be dragged into a blood-soaked world of obsession, desire, and delirium.
