Update 11/24: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has confirmed BUGONIA will launch on PVOD on November 25th, 2025, and that the 4K/Blu-ray/DVD is set to hit retail on December 23rd, 2025.

According to our sources, Focus Features is expected to release their sci-fi comedy BUGONIA on VOD and digital platforms this week, arriving on November 25th, 2025. The film world premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival before launching in US theaters on October 24th, 2025.

Bugonia is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos from a screenplay by Will Tracy. It is an English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean film Save the Green Planet! by Jang Joon-hwan. The film stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone.
In the film, two conspiracy obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
The film is nominated for Best Feature at the upcoming Gotham Film Awards, and director Yorgos Lanthimos is nominated for Best Director at the European Film Awards.
