Quiver Distribution has unveiled the official trailer for their Willem Dafoe drama THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, which will arrive on VOD and digital platforms on June 5th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Locarno International Film Festival and will have a limited theatrical run day-and-date with its digital launch.
The Birthday Party is co-written and directed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Panos Karnezis. It stars Willem Dafoe, Vic Carmen Sonne, Joe Cole, and Emma Suárez.
The film is set against the beautiful Mediterranean landscape and an extravagant birthday party. A ruthless multi-millionaire in charge of a business empire, will entirely lose his grip on any sense of right and wrong when he tries to control the lives of those around him whatever the cost, leading to a heartbreaking clash with his daughter.
