The Vertical Entertainment thriller THE PASSENGER has quietly launched on SVOD, arriving on Prime Video today, September 1st, 2026. The film launched on VOD and digital platforms on June 5th, 2026.
Please note: This is not to be confused with the Paramount Pictures horror thriller PASSENGER, which is currently streaming on Paramount+.
The Passenger is directed by Vadim Perelmen, and is based on the 2016 play Damascus by Bennett Fisher, who adapted the screenplay. It stars Djimon Hounsou and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
In the film, a struggling airport shuttle driver (Djimon Hounsou) in Minneapolis illegally takes a stranded twenty-something (Kodi Smit-McPhee) to Chicago and soon finds himself trapped in a terrifying ride he can’t escape.
