Shudder has unveiled the official trailer and poster for their upcoming horror thriller THE MORTUARY ASSISTANT, which will begin streaming on their platform on March 27th, 2026. The film launched in US theaters in limited release on February 13th, 2026.
The Mortuary Assistant is directed by Jeremiah Kipp from a screenplay by Tracee Beebe and Brian Clarke. Based on the 2022 video game by DreadXP, it stars Willa Holland and Paul Sparks.
In the film, newly certified mortician Rebecca Owens takes a job at the River Field Mortuary and is tasked with embalming bodies alone on the night shift, but something sinister lurks beneath the surface. She must navigate demonic rituals, unravel the secrets of her enigmatic mentor and confront her own buried traumas to survive the night – and prevent her body from becoming a vessel for possession.
