Sony Pictures Classics has released the official US trailer and poster for their BAFTA winning drama I SWEAR, which will launch in US theaters on April 24th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
I Swear is directed, written, and produced by Kirk Jones, and stars Robert Aramayo, Ellis Watson, Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson, and Peter Mullan.
The film is based on the life story of Tourette’s Syndrome campaigner John Davidson, MBE. Set within 1980s Britain, the story follows him throughout his troubled teens and early adulthood, and explores this little known and entirely misunderstood condition, along with his attempts to live a ‘normal’ life against the odds.
I Swear received five nominations at the 79th British Academy Film Awards, winning two, including Best Actor in a Leading Role for Aramayo, and Best Casting for Lauren Evans.
You can find the release date on our In Theaters Calendar. Check out the new official US trailer and poster below.

I have you heard anything about other BAFTA nominees/winners: Boong, Wasteman, or My Father’s Shadow?
We’re tracking My Father’s Shadow for a MUBI release in the next month or two. Wasteman is getting a US theatrical release in April via Sunrise Films. No US distribution announced yet for Boong.
