According to our sources, Sony Pictures Classics is expected to release their historical drama THE CHORAL on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on February 17th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival before launching in US theaters in limited release on December 25th, 2025.
Please note: Sony Pictures Classics has neither announced nor confirmed the release date. As always, release dates are subject to change.
The Choral is co-produced and directed by Nicholas Hytner and written by Alan Bennett. It stars Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, Mark Addy, Alun Armstrong, Robert Emms, and Simon Russell Beale.
Set in 1916, during World War I, in the fictional town of Ramsden, Yorkshire, the film follows the members of the local choral society which recruits a group of teenage boys and girls for a performance of Edward Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, a work chosen because it was not written by a German.
We’ve added the release date to our Streaming Calendar. Check out the film’s official US trailer below.
