1-2 Special is set to release Radu Jude’s absurdist comedy-drama KONTINENTAL ’25 on VOD and digital platforms this week, arriving tomorrow, May 26th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won Jude the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay, and launched in US theaters on March 27th, 2026.
Kontinental ’25 is written and directed by Radu Jude, and stars Eszter Tompa, Gabriel Spahiu, Adonis Tanța, Oana Mardare, Șerban Pavlu, Annamária Biluska, and Ilinca Manolache.
In the film, Orsolya is a bailiff in Cluj, Transylvania. One day she has to evict a homeless man who lives in the basement of a downtown building transformed into a luxury hotel. An unexpected event suddenly confronts her with her contradictions.
