The Sony Pictures Classics proshot version of the Stephen Sondheim musical MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG is set to make its SVOD debut early next month, arriving on Netflix on April 4th, 2026. The film launched in US theaters on December 5th, 2025, before hitting VOD and digital platforms on January 20th, 2026.
Merrily We Roll Along is directed by Maria Friedman and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez, Krystal Joy Brown, Katie Rose Clarke and Reg Rogers.
Spanning two decades, Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s Merrily We Roll Along charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends — writer Mary and lyricist & playwright Charley. Originally produced on Broadway in 1981, then becoming an inventive cult-classic ahead of its time, Merrily We Roll Along features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated and personal songs.
