Sunrise Films is set to release their prison drama WASTEMAN on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on May 19th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival before launching in US theaters on April 17th, 2026.
Wasteman is directed by Cal McMau from a screenplay by Hunter Andrews and Eoin Doran. The film stars David Jonsson, Tom Blyth, Alex Hassell, Corin Silva, and Paul Hilton.
In the film, Taylor’s hopes for a fresh start post-parole are jeopardised by cellmate Dee’s arrival. As Dee takes Taylor under his wing, a vicious attack tests their bond, forcing Taylor to choose between protecting Dee and his own chances at freedom.
