PILLION Gets HBO Max Streaming Premiere Date

The A24 BDSM romance PILLION is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on HBO Max on June 5th, 2026. The film had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the section’s Best Screenplay prize and the Palme Dog, alongside nominations for the Caméra d’Or and the Queer Palm. It launched in US theaters on February 6th, 2026, and hit VOD and digital platforms on March 31st, 2026.

The R-rated version of the film will debut on HBO linear on SATURDAY, JUNE 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The unrated version will be available to stream on HBO Max.

Pillion is written and directed by Harry Lighton, in his directorial debut, based on the 2020 novel Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones. It stars Alexander Skarsgård, Harry Melling, Lesley Sharp, Douglas Hodge, Anthony Welsh, and Jake Shears.

In the film, Colin, a timid gay man, is swept off his feet when Ray, an enigmatic and impossibly handsome biker, takes him on as his submissive in a crazy and erotic BDSM-focused relationship.
