Shout! Studios is set to release the indie dark comedy OUR HERO, BALTHAZAR on VOD and digital platforms next month, arriving on August 11th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival before launching in US theaters on March 27th, 2026.
Our Hero, Balthazar is directed and produced by Oscar Boyson in his directorial debut, from a screenplay by Boyson and Ricky Camilleri. It stars Jaeden Martell, Asa Butterfield, Chris Bauer, Jennifer Ehle, Anna Baryshnikov, Noah Centineo, Becky Ann Baker, Avan Jogia and Pippa Knowles.
In the film, Balthazar, a wealthy New York teenager obsessed with performing empathy online, follows an internet acquaintance to Texas believing he can stop a school shooting – an audacious satire on social media and performative activism.
