Wim Wenders Doc ANSELM Gets Criterion Channel, Digital Streaming Premiere Date

The Wim Wenders documentary ANSELM will premiere on The Criterion Channel and VOD and digital platforms next week, arriving on March 19, 2024. The film world-premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival before launching in limited release in US theaters on December 8th, 2023.

Anselm is a 3D documentary film directed by Wim Wenders, chronicling the art of German painter and sculptor Anselm Kiefer. Described as "immersive", the film illuminates his work, life journey, inspiration, creative process, and the artist's fascination with myth and history. The aim is to "blur" the boundary between film and painting.
