When Will IT LIVES INSIDE be Streaming? Our Forecast!

NEON launched their horror thriller IT LIVES INSIDE in 2005 theaters this weekend, and it has become their highest opening weekend grosser ever. Granted…they usually open their films in limited/platform release. And the weekend gross for It Lives Inside was only $2.6M. But a record is a record! Let’s celebrate their win with a look at when the film might be available for streaming:

The Forecast: With the success of A24’s TALK TO ME earlier in the year, there’s reason to be optimistic about non-IP driven horror. While we have plenty of Conjuring Universe and Exorcist-driven films flooding the theaters, the horror audience has shown a real appetite to take a chance on new voices in the genre. The fact that NEON was able to open It Lives Inside relatively wide, and get a solid (if not spectacular) audience is impressive. It has no stars, no high-concept, no name director. And it’s now well-positioned to make some nice PVOD money during Halloween season.
NEON has a bit of a track record with their horror thrillers. Let’s look at the comps:

NEON definitely has a strategy with its horror/thrillers, and we’re forecasting It Lives Inside will follow suit. It’s been set for pre-order at the usual PVOD price-point ($24.99), and as we mentioned before, Halloween season is primetime for horror titles.
