When to Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report
Welcome to When To Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report. Every Friday, we’ll break down the film titles whose first window streaming premieres are still not confirmed. This column will not examine second window SVOD premieres, though we’ll obviously still be tracking and reporting those.
One note: There are hundreds of new films every year, and we’re not able to track or highlight every single one. For now, we concentrate on major studio and indie distributor releases.

Theatrical Release Date: July 12, 2024
Tracking: Still crickets on a digital release. Will be interesting to see if A24 tries to re-launch this theatrically for Oscar consideration.

Theatrical Release Date: August 9, 2024
Tracking: This title is releasing through indie label Metrograph, so we’ll see how quickly they pivot from theatrical to digital. Still no pre-order, they’re taking their time.

Theatrical Release Date: August 30, 2024
Tracking: This Cohen Media doc expands slowly in the coming weeks, so look for a digital release later in the fall.

Tracking: Last year’s big MUBI theatrical titles (Passages, Fallen Leaves) had around two month theatrical windows, but this one went wide quickly, so we’re estimating it’ll go to streaming a bit earlier.

Tracking: A real wild card. This is going out under the Warner Bros Pictures, DC Studios, HBO, and CNN labels. It’s an awards hopeful, so it could get a high profile HBO and/or CNN premiere before a digital release.

Tracking: How long can Francis Ford Coppola keep this in theaters and off streaming? The film is available for pre-order at a PVOD price-point, but we’re still thinking he’ll get until November.

Tracking: Universal mostly keeps their animated films in theaters exclusively for at least 30 days, so don’t look for a quick 17-day turnaround for this title.
