When to Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report
Welcome to When To Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report. Every Friday, we’ll break down the film titles whose first window streaming premieres are still not confirmed. This column will not examine second window SVOD premieres, though we’ll obviously still be tracking and reporting those.
One note: There are hundreds of new films every year, and we’re not able to track or highlight every single one. For now, we concentrate on major studio and indie distributor releases.
Here are the film titles (in order of theatrical release) we are currently tracking:
Theatrical Release Date: May 3, 2024
Tracking: A Janus Films release, which means a likely 90-day theatrical window. Look for this one to hit the Criterion Channel and digital later in the summer.

Theatrical Release Date: May 31, 2024
Tracking: Unfortunately, this animated gem has not broken out at the box-office. Still no pre-order, but we anticipate a digital launch in the next few weeks.

Theatrical Release Date: June 14, 2024
Tracking: Disney had strict 60-day theatrical exclusive windows for their 2023 animated releases, and we’re estimating they’ll do the same in 2024.

Tracking: An 8/20 VOD/Digital release date is set.

Tracking: This critically acclaimed drama failed to catch fire in semi-wide release. Look for a digital announcement in the next week or two.

VOD/Digital Estimate: Late July/Early August 2024

Tracking: This Yorgos Lanthimos film continues to lose screens this weekend, but we’re holding on our estimate for now. The only question is whether this will go to digital or Hulu first.

Tracking: This Janus Films/Sideshow release looks to play through its titular season. We’re estimating it’ll arrive on streaming in September.

Tracking: This long-delayed title should follow the release pattern of other Cohen Media releases, which means about a 5-week window.

Tracking: We’re estimating this Apple Studios/Sony Pictures release will have a similar window to Argylle, which was 31 days.

Tracking: A massive success for NEON, and they’ve now made it available for pre-order at a PVOD price point. Sticking with our estimate for now.

Tracking: This Disney release will likely follow their 2024 playbook: At least 60-days theatrically exclusive. Don’t expect to see this hit digital until the end of September.

Tracking: Focus is taking its time rolling this one out, so we don’t expect an 18-day window. It’s slated to go wide-ish in mid-August, so we anticipate a digital release a few weeks after that.

Tracking: Bleecker Street is counter-programming with this female skewing comedy, going wide-ish this weekend in ~1000 theaters. It’s priced for PVOD, so look for a quick pivot to digital.
