What the Disney Q3 Earnings Presentation Reveals About Hulu/ Disney+ Fall Release Dates

As part of their Q3 earnings call this afternoon, Disney released a presentation that outlined their fiscal results for the quarter, along with business highlights, subscriber information, and various forward-looking projections for the months and years ahead.

One slide in the presentation is devoted to the key Disney+ and Hulu releases still to come in 2023 (slide above). Astute streaming analyst @drewsclues noticed that while the slide notes indicate the TBA titles are alphabetized, they are actually not. So what can we glean from this discrepancy? Let’s speculate!

First, we’ll break down the release dates we do know, and lay them out next to the titles that are unknown:

If we assume the titles are listed chronologically, ELEMENTAL will definitely be on Disney+ in September (not a surprise).

THEATER CAMP looks positioned for a late September launch on Hulu, clearing the way for both THE BOOGEYMAN and A HAUNTING IN VENICE to be October Halloween titles. That would be a quick turnaround for HAUNTING, as it doesn’t open theatrically until September 15th. An October 31st launch would be a 45-day window, something Disney has been moving away from. So that theory is a little shaky.

HAUNTED MANSION listed before LOKI S2’s October 6th date makes much more sense. That title was always a lock to be a part of Disney+’s Halloween programming.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY listed last is a surprise. Could Disney be holding it back to launch at Christmas?

Anyway, all will be revealed in due time. Feel free to chime in with your theories.
