THEY SHOT THE PIANO PLAYER Gets Netflix Streaming Release Date

Sony Pictures Classics animated true-crime drama THEY SHOT THE PIANO PLAYER is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on Netflix on August 14th, 2024. The film world premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival before receiving a limited one-week Oscar qualifying run in November 2023. It launched in limited release in US theaters on February 23rd, 2024.

They Shot the Piano Player was directed by Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal. Centred around the real-life disappearance and presumed murder of Brazilian bossa nova pianist Tenório Jr. in 1976, the film stars Jeff Goldblum as Jeff Harris, an American music journalist investigating Tenório's case.
