THE ZONE OF INTEREST Gets Max Streaming Premiere Date

The Oscar-winning drama THE ZONE OF INTEREST is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on Max on April 5th, 2024. The film world-premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival before launching in US theaters in limited release on December 8th, 2023. It was made available for digital sale on February 20th, 2024.

The Zone of Interest was written and directed by Jonathan Glazer and is a co-production between the United Kingdom and Poland. The story is loosely based on the 2014 novel by Martin Amis, itself based partially on real events. It stars Christian Friedel and Sandra Hüller as Nazi commandant, Rudolf Höss, and his wife, Hedwig, who live with their family in a home in the "Zone of Interest" next to the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The film won the Grand Prix and FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and was named one of the top five international films of 2023 by the National Board of Review. It won three BAFTAs (including Film not in the English Language) and was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards. At the 96th Academy Awards, it received five nominations, including for Best Picture, and two wins, for Best International Feature and Best Sound.
