THE FIRST SLAM DUNK Streaming Release Date Confirmed

At long last, the Japanese animated basketball film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK has a streaming release date, arriving on VOD and digital platform on June 25th, 2024. The film debuted in US theaters on July 28th, 2023.

UPDATE 6/25: Only Fandango at Home/Vudu launched for sale/rental. We will post if/when additional retailers launch.

The First Slam Dunk was written and directed by Takehiko Inoue, produced by Toei Animation and DandeLion Animation Studio. It is based on Inoue's Slam Dunk manga series.

Shohoku's “speedster” and point guard, Ryota Miyagi, always plays with brains and lightning speed, running circles around his opponents while feigning composure. In his second year of high school, Ryota plays with the Shohoku High School basketball team along with Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, and Mitsui as they take the stage at the Inter-High School National Championship. And now, they are on the brink of challenging the reigning champions, Sannoh Kogyo High School.
