Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Hits Theaters in October, Where and When Will it Go to Streaming?
After a record breaking summer concert tour, Taylor Swift is bringing her Eras Tour to the big screen. TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR will screen at AMC and Cinemark theaters this fall, launch on October 13th, 2023. The concert pic will play Oct. 13-15, then Oct. 19-22 , Oct. 26-29, Tuesday Oct. 31 and Nov. 2-5. Tickets are priced at $19.89 and $13.13. At AMC, the Eras Tour will play in Dolby auditoriums and some IMAX screens.
This announcement is a huge shot in the arm for those theater chains, as October is desperately in need of a blockbuster attraction to bring in moviegoers. Killers of the Flower Moon and The Exorcist: Believer are the only two October titles poised to do significant business. We would not be surprised if the announced dates are significantly expanded.
So when can we expect Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour to hit streaming? It looks like AMC Theaters is handling distribution on this one. The film will be screened by Cinemark, Cineplex, and Cinepolis theaters in the US, Canada and Mexico, respectively, marking the first time AMC has distributed a film to unaffiliated chains. AMC Theaters recently shut down their AMC on Demand digital store, instead choosing to partner with Fandango’s Vudu digital retail service. So there is an infrastructure to eventually offer the film for streaming.
One thing is certain: This will do gangbusters at theaters. And when it’s available for streaming, it’ll be huge as well. We’ll be tracking and let you know as soon as there’s news.
