Shudder Sets Streaming Date, Releases First Poster, Trailer for Irish Folk Horror FRÉWAKA

Shudder has unveiled the official trailer and poster for their upcoming Irish folk horror film FRÉWAKA, which will begin streaming on their platform as part of their ‘Halfway to Halloween’ month on April 25th, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Sitges Film Festival.
Fréwaka is directed by Aislinn Clarke and stars Clare Monnelly, Bríd Ní Neachtain, and Aleksandra Bystrzhitskaya.
In the film, nursing student Shoo takes a placement in a remote Irish village to care for Peig a reclusive, elderly woman who lives in fear, haunted by her experiences in a Catholic asylum… only to find her own troubled past catching up with her.
