Paramount+ w/Showtime will premiere the acclaimed documentary KOKOMO CITY on their platform early next year, launching on February 2nd, 2024. The film will also premiere on linear television that day, airing on Showtime at 9p ET/PT.

Kokomo City was, directed, produced, and edited by D. Smith. It explores the lives of four Black trans women and their experiences as sex workers in New York and Georgia. Lena Waithe serves as an executive producer. The film is one of the favorites to be shortlisted for the Best Documentary Feature Oscar.

It’s unknown if the premiere signals a new partnership between Magnolia Pictures and Paramount+ w/Showtime. Previously, Magnolia has exclusively partnered with Hulu for their films’ SVOD windows.

We’ve added the release date to our streaming calendar.
