NEON Sets Digital Streaming Release Date for Documentary SEEKING MAVIS BEACON

NEON is set to release their documentary SEEKING MAVIS BEACON on VOD and digital platforms tomorrow, October 1st, 2024. The film world premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in the NEXT section, before launching in US theaters in limited release on August 30th, 2024.

Seeking Mavis Beacon is the directorial debut of Jazmin Jones. The film follows investigators Jones and Olivia McKayla Ross on their search to find Renée L'Esperance, the Haitian model for Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, a software program developed in the 1980s.

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing taught millions globally, but the software’s Haitian-born cover model vanished decades ago. Two DIY detectives search for the model while posing questions about identity and artificial intelligence.
