Magnolia has set a theatrical release date for the Mads Mikkelsen starring historical drama THE PROMISED LAND, which will debut in US theaters on February 2nd, 2024. The film was recently submitted by Denmark as its candidate for Best International Feature at the Oscars. Magnolia will also give it a 2023 qualifying run to make it eligible for Best Picture and Best Actor.

The Promised Land world premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, and also screened at the Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals. The epic historical drama stars Mads Mikkelsen as the real-life Ludvig von Kahlen, a former soldier who tried to make his fortune by taming the then wild and lawless heath of the Danish Jutland peninsula, so it could be turned over to cultivation following a declaration by King Frederik V.

We’ve added the release date to our in theaters calendar. Check out the international poster and trailer below.
