Indie Spirit Award Nominee JAZZY Gets Digital Streaming Release Date
Vertical Entertainment has set a streaming release date for the coming-of-age drama JAZZY, which will arrive on VOD and digital platforms on February 7th, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival and will have a limited theatrical release day-and-date with its streaming launch.
Jazzy is directed and produced by Morrisa Maltz, from a screenplay by Maltz, Lainey Bearkiller Shangreaux, Vanara Taing and Andrew Hajek. The film serves as a follow up to The Unknown Country by Maltz, and stars Jasmine Bearkiller Shangreaux, Syriah Foohead Means, Richard Ray Whitman, Raymond Lee and Lily Gladstone. Gladstone, Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass serve as executive producers.
In the film, Jazzy navigates the space between childhood and young adulthood. When her best friend moves away, Jazzy experiences both a sense of loss and her first inkling of independence.
Jazzy is nominated for two Film Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Editing (Laura Colwell and Vanara Taing) and the John Cassavetes Award, which is an award given to the best feature made for under $1,000,000, and given to the writer, director, and producer.
