Here’s What’s Coming to Max in February 2025

Max has announced the titles arriving on their platform in February 2025, including the SVOD premieres of WE LIVE IN TIME, ELEVATION, WAITRESS: THE MUSICAL, and WATCHMEN: CHAPTER TWO. You can find all of these titles on our streaming calendar.

Not yet announced is the streaming premiere date for THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM, which will likely arrive towards the end of the month. We’ll post as soon as we get news of a launch date.

THE TAKEDOWN: AMERICAN ARYANS

Logline: THE TAKEDOWN: AMERICAN ARYANS takes viewers inside the cult-like world of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas from the late 2000s to the present day. Told principally by charismatic federal agent Richard Boehning, the series examines an organized crime group built on Nazi ideology and extreme violence operating under the radar in the suburbs of Texas. The shocking murder of a young woman catapults Boehning and his Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) task force on an odyssey to protect American values against an enemy growing in confidence and power.

WE BEAT THE DREAM TEAM
Logline: The series reveals the little-known story of a group of college basketball players who were tasked with preparing Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan and the rest of the legendary “Dream Team” for their Olympic debut in 1992. In an unexpected twist, the college team, which featured Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Bobby Hurley, Jamal Mashburn, Allan Houston, Rodney Rogers, and Eric Montross, shocked the NBA superstars by defeating them in a scrimmage – an outcome that ultimately helped propel the Dream Team to gold.

Logline: Featuring composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles as Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose and the beauty of a well-baked pie.

Logline: Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives. Through snapshots of their life together -- falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family -- a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation. As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley’s decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.

Logline: The world has changed. The only habitable place left for humanity is in the high mountains, above 8000 feet. To save the life of his young son, a father (Anthony Mackie) is forced to venture below “The Line” with a scientist (Morena Baccarin) he despises, but who just might hold the key to defeating the monsters, and a young woman (Maddie Hasson) determined to keep them both alive long enough to save the human race.

PUPPY BOWL XXI

Rollout: Debuts at 11am PT/2pm ET and will be simulcast across Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max and discovery+, with a brand-new Puppy Bowl XXI Kickoff airing at 10am PT/1pm ET on Animal Planet.
Logline: The annual three-hour television event will feature 142 rescue puppies from 80 shelters across 40 states – and two countries – as they compete in the cutest competition of the year. With more puppies than ever before, PUPPY BOWL XXI will highlight their inspiring journeys from birth to adoption, as well as the tremendous dedication of the rescues and shelters that help find animals their forever homes.
