Focus Features Sets Theatrical Date, Unveils Trailer for THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND

Focus Features has released the first trailer for the upcoming comedy-drama THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND, which will debut in US theaters in limited release on March 28th, 2025. The film is slated to world premiere at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival.

The Ballad of Wallis Island is directed by James Griffiths and written by Tom Basden and Tim Key. It stars Basden, Key, Carey Mulligan, Akemnji Ndifornyen, and Sian Clifford.

The Ballad of Wallis Island follows Charles (Tim Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians, Mortimer-McGwyer (Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden) back together.

His fantasy quickly turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.
