Digital Streaming Release Date Revealed for A24’s ON BECOMING A GUINEA FOWL

According to our sources, A24 is expected to release their acclaimed comedy-drama ON BECOMING A GUINEA FOWL on digital platforms early next month, arriving on April 8th, 2025. The film competed in the Un Certain Regard section at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in 2024 and launched in US theaters in limited release on March 7th, 2025.

On Becoming a Guinea Fowl is written and directed by Rungano Nyoni, and stars Susan Chardy, Elizabeth Chisela and Henry B.J. Phiri.
In the film, on an empty road in the middle of the night, Shula stumbles across the body of her uncle. As funeral proceedings begin around them, she and her cousins bring to light the buried secrets of their middle-class Zambian family.
The film was nominated for Best British Independent Film and Best Director at the British Independent Film Awards in November 2024, with Chardy winning the 2024 British Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Performance.
