Dev Patel’s MONKEY MAN Digital Streaming Release Date Revealed

Universal is expected to release their action thriller MONKEY MAN on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on April 23rd, 2024. The film world premiered at the 2024 SXSW Festival and opened in US theaters on April 5th, 2024.

Monkey Man was directed and co-produced by Dev Patel in his directorial debut, and he also co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee. The film stars Patel, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash Tripathy, Vipin Sharma, Sikandar Kher, Adithi Kalkunte, Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashwini Kalsekar, Makarand Deshpande, Jatin Malik and Zakir Hussain.
The film’s plot is as follows: Kid (Patel), an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.
