CHALLENGERS Digital Streaming Release Date Revealed

Amazon MGM is expected to release its critically acclaimed tennis romance CHALLENGERS on VOD and digital platforms next week, arriving on May 17th, 2024. The film launched in US theaters on April 26th, 2024.

Challengers was directed by Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes. It follows a professional tennis champion (Mike Faist) who plots a comeback with the help of his wife (Zendaya), a former tennis prodigy who retired after an injury, as he goes up against another player (Josh O'Connor), who also happens to be his former best friend and wife's former lover.

The short theatrical-exclusive window (21 days) is in line with other Amazon MGM films. Last Christmas, George Clooney’s THE BOYS IN THE BOAT also debuted on digital after three weeks. It continued to play in theaters for an additional two months and earned more than $12M after it became available on PVOD. Challengers will also continue to play theatrically.
