The Sony Pictures AI thriller AFRAID is set to make its SVOD debut later this month, arriving on Netflix on November 28th, 2024. The film launched in US theaters on August 30th, 2024, before pivoting to VOD/Digital on September 17th, 2024.

Afraid was written, produced and directed by Chris Weitz. Produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Jason Blum and Weitz through their Blumhouse Productions and Depth of Field banners respectively, alongside Andrew Miano, the film stars John Cho, Katherine Waterston, Havana Rose Liu, Lukita Maxwell, David Dastmalchian, and Keith Carradine.

The film tells the story of Curtis Pike and his family, who are selected to test a new home device: a digital assistant called AIA. AIA observes the family's behaviors and begins to anticipate their needs. And she can – and will – make sure nothing – and no one – gets in her family's way.

We’ve added the release date to our streaming calendar. Check out the official US trailer below.
