Biopic WIDOW CLICQUOT Gets Digital Streaming Release Date

Vertical Entertainment is set to release their biopic drama WIDOW CLICQUOT on VOD and digital platforms next week, arriving on August 6th, 2024. The film world premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival before launching in US theaters on July 19th, 2024.

Widow Clicquot was directed by Thomas Napper, from a screenplay by Erin Dignam and Christopher Monger based on the book The Widow Clicquot by Tilar J. Mazzeo. It stars Haley Bennett, Tom Sturridge, Sam Riley, Anson Boon, Leo Suter, Ben Miles, and Natasha O'Keeffe.

After her husband's untimely death, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot flouts convention by assuming the reins of the fledgling wine business they had nurtured together. Steering the company through dizzying political and financial reversals, she defies her critics and revolutionizes the champagne industry to become one of the world's first great entrepreneurs. Based on a true story.
