Award-Winning Documentary SUGARCANE Gets Hulu Streaming Premiere Date
The National Geographic documentary SUGARCANE is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on Hulu on December 10th, 2024. The film world premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won the US Documentary Directing Award. It launched in US theaters on August 9th, 2024.
Sugarcane was directed by Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie and produced by Emily Kassie and Kellen Quinn. It follows an investigation into the Canadian Indian residential school system, igniting a reckoning in the lives of survivors and descendants.
The film was recently nominated at the Gotham Awards for Best Documentary Feature and is widely seen as a major contender for this year’s Oscars.
