Animated Historical Drama THE PEASANTS Digital Streaming Release Date Revealed

Sony Pictures Classics is expected to release their animated historical drama THE PEASANTS on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on March 26th, 2024. The film world-premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival before receiving an Oscar-qualifying run in the US on December 8th, 2023. It launched in limited release in the US on January 26th, 2024. Please note: Sony Pictures Classics has neither confirmed nor announced the release date.

The Peasants was directed and written by DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman. An adaptation of Władysław Reymont's Nobel Prize-winning novel of the same name, the film was produced using the painted animation technique similar to the pair's previous film, Loving Vincent. The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Kamila Urzędowska, Robert Gulaczyk, Mirosław Baka, Sonia Mietielica, Ewa Kasprzyk, Cezary Łukaszewicz, Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Sonia Bohosiewicz, Dorota Stalińska, Andrzej Konopka, Marcin Rusin and Maciej Musiał.
