Acclaimed Canadian Comedy UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE Digital Streaming Release Date Revealed

According to our sources, Oscilloscope is expected to release their acclaimed Canadian absurdist comedy UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE on VOD and digital platforms later this year, arriving on April 8th, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival before launching in US theaters on February 14th, 2025.

Universal Language was co-written and directed by Matthew Rankin, and stars Rankin, Mani Soleymanlou, Rojina Esmaeili, Saba Vahedyousefi, and Pirouz Nemati.
Winter. Somewhere between Tehran and Winnipeg. Negin and Nazgol find a sum of money frozen deep within the sidewalk ice and try to find a way to get it out. Massoud leads a group of befuddled tourists upon an increasingly-strange walking tour of Winnipeg historic sites. Matthew leaves his job at the Québec government and embarks upon a mysterious journey to visit his estranged mother.
The film was named one of the top 5 international films of 2024 by the National Board of Review and was selected as the Canadian entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards.
