According to a source (see below), Universal Pictures is expected to release their animated comedy adventure MINIONS & MONSTERS on VOD and digital platforms next month, arriving on August 11the, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival before launching in US theaters on July 1st, 2026.

Minions & Monsters is directed by Pierre Coffin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Brian Lynch. The film stars Coffin as the voice of the Minions, alongside Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.
In the film, Illumination expands its joyful Minions universe with a riotous chapter featuring all-new characters in the biggest global animated franchise in history. This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood as movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try saving the planet from the mayhem they created.
