The 1-2 Special comedy-drama ERUPCJA is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on MUBI on September 4th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival before launching in US theaters on April 17th, 2026. It hit VOD and digital platforms on June 2nd, 2026.
Erupcja is directed and produced by Pete Ohs, from a screenplay by Ohs, Jeremy O. Harris, Charli XCX, Lena Góra, and Will Madden. It stars XCX, Góra, O. Harris and Madden.
In the film, while on vacation in Poland, Bethany breaks away from a romantic itinerary planned by her doting boyfriend, Rob, fearing that a marriage proposal is imminent. Reuniting instead with an old friend, Nel, the two women rekindle a uniquely combustible chemistry over the course of a few days in a chaste but burning trust predicated on sapphic synchronicity and a mutual penchant for poetry.
