Angel Studios is set to release their drama thriller I WAS A STRANGER on VOD and digital platforms this week, arriving. tomorrow, February 10th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival (under the title The Stranger’s Case) before launching in US theaters on January 9th, 2026.
I Was a Stranger is directed, written, and produced by Brandt Andersen, in his feature directorial debut. It stars Yasmine Al Massri, Omar Sy, Yahya Mahayni, Ziad Bakri, Constantine Markoulakis and Jason Beghe.
In the film, a Syrian doctor and her daughter flee Aleppo, setting off a chain of events that binds five strangers together. A smuggler, a soldier, a poet, and a coast guard captain collide in a crisis that tests their courage, their choices, and their humanity.
