The Inaugural Entertainment post-apocalyptic action thriller AFTERBURN is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on MGM+ on December 22nd, 2025. The film launched in US theaters on September 19th, 2025, and hit VOD and digital platforms on October 21st.
Afterburn is directed by J. J. Perry and written by Matt Johnson and Nimród Antal. It stars Dave Bautista, Samuel L. Jackson, Olga Kurylenko and Kristofer Hivju.
Set against the backdrop of a post apocalyptic Earth whose Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare, leaving what life remains mutated from radiation and fallout. The story revolves around a group of treasure hunters who extract such objects as the Mona Lisa, the Rosetta Stone and the Crown Jewels while facing rival hunters, mutants and pirates.
