According to iTunes (see screenshot below), NEON is set to release their award-winning drama FJORD on VOD and digital platforms next month, arriving on November 24th, 2026. The film world premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Palme d’Or, and launched in US theaters on October 9th, 2026.
Fjord is written, directed and co-produced by Cristian Mungiu, and stars Sebastian Stan, Renate Reinsve, Lisa Carlehed, Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Henrikke Lund-Olsen, Vanessa Ceban, Christian Rubeck, and Markus Scarth Tønseth.
In the film, when a devout Romanian family (Sebastian Stan, Renate Reinsve) resettles in a small Norwegian town, they become the subject of public scandal when their daughter shows up to school with unexplained bruises. As allegations of abuse emerge, they are swept up in an investigation that blurs the line between concern and prejudice.
The film was selected as the Romanian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the upcoming 99th Academy Awards.
