A24’s mockumentary THE MOMENT is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on HBO Max on May 29th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival before launching in US theaters on January 30th, 2026. It hit PVOD on March 3rd, 2026.
Additionally, the film will debut on HBO linear on SATURDAY, MAY 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The Moment is directed by Aidan Zamiri, from a screenplay by Zamiri and Bertie Brandes. It stars Charli XCX, Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Isaac Cole Powell, Kate Berlant, Rish Shah and Jamie Demetriou.
In the film, as her arena tour debut looms, a pop star (Charli xcx) finds herself caught inside the afterglow of a breakout summer — where ambition, ego, and industry excess collide. The Moment is a sly, self-aware backstage satire that captures the thrill of momentum, and the mounting pressure of what it costs to stay on top.
